Averroës was a Spanish-Arabian philosopher who lived from 1126-1198. He was noted for his commentaries on Aristotle. In addition to his scholarly pursites, Averroës was also a physician. Averrroës was well known for trying to reconcile Aristotelian rationality with Moslem orthodoxy.
